Mission

Our mission is to foster innovative programs and services that enhance the quality of life to make a difference in the lives of older adults, caregivers, and adults ages 18-59 with a disability.

NEMO AAA Profile

The Northeast Missouri Area Agency on Aging has provided programs and services to older people since its incorporation in 1973 as a not-for-profit agency. NEMO AAA is one of the 10 Area Agencies on Aging located in Missouri and is governed by a board of directors and an advisory council. The purpose of the agency is to plan, develop, coordinate, and fund a network of services for older persons throughout the sixteen-county service area. Various sources, including the amended Older Americans Act of 1965 administered by the Administration of Community Living, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, the Division of Senior and Disability Services, the Missouri Department of Transportation, the Missouri Alliance of Area Agencies on Aging, and the Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration, provide funding for the agency.

NEMO AAA programs and services are available for anyone above the age of 60, a caregiver, or a person living with a disability between the ages of 18 and 59 who reside in the counties of Adair, Clark, Knox, Lewis, Lincoln, Macon, Marion, Monroe, Montgomery, Pike, Ralls, Randolph, Schuyler, Scotland, Shelby, and Warren.
